Rediscovered under the reign of Charles the III of Bourbon, Herculaneum is a unique archeological site, a must see in Italy.

The streets, private and public buildings, objects, people, animals… everything reminds us of the life of this city in the past that we can still perceive nowadays.

THE ATHENIAN PARTHENON

IN SEARCH OF PERFECTION AND POLITICAL VALIDATION

The Parthenon, the temple of Athena Parthenos and centerpiece of Pericles’ building campaign on the Acropolis of Athens, has been hailed as an iconic work of genius throughout the centuries. The wondrous composition of individual parts into a harmonious whole, the complex assemblage of refinements, the human-like features, may have indeed captured “the supreme effort of genius in pursuit of beauty”. Meanwhile, the choice of themes on the lavish sculptures of the Parthenon glorified the paramount role of the Athenians at war and peace, in myth and history, promoting Athens as an unequaled city-state: both egalitarian and elitist, inclusive and exclusive, democratic and imperialistic.
